Hello from Tulsa... I am in the middle of a move and have discovered I can't take my 2 male ducks, Butters and Marble, with me. As much as it breaks my heart I am looking for a new home for them. I currently keep them in a hand built coop/hutch and they get roam of the yard. The coop can go with...
Thank you! I think for now then I'll just see how it goes and I'm sure soon I'll see whether they are male or female.
Any idea a breed on my small one?
To be honest these being my first ducks, I don't know what I'm doing when venting. I watched a video, read up on it, and tried it... and it's so small it's truly hard to see and tell. I had someone watching and they think it's a male based on how my female looked.
And this may sound dumb, but...
I bought a duck, believed to be a female pekin. She is now a few weeks old.
Saturday the 15th I bought a duckling from a feed store to keep her company. They get along very well and have stayed together since then. My problem is, I had the new one vent sexed and we think it is a male. I would...

I had a vet check my tiny duckling and they believe it to be a male. I was really not wanting a male, mostly because of the...
I know he meant well, and my ducks adore each other. I considered just having one duck inside, but it does seem to be a messy situation without diapers. We'll see how this goes. My main concern now is that one is a boy... I'm afraid I'll have to rehome him.
Here is a pic of my 2, I introduced them slow in the yard. They hit it off pretty quick, so after a couple supervised "playtimes" I was able to put them together throughout the day.
I have 2 different age ducklings (one I just got Saturday, very small, and the other I have had for a few weeks) they do very well together. In fact my older seems to be taking on a mother role... they snuggle together constantly.
Hello!!
I have the pleasure of being a Duck Mom! Of course, since I have never done this before I will have lots of questions.
I'm not sure if this site is meant for ducks, since its called backyard chickens, but I have seen a lot of things on here that have already been helpful.
I have...
