Hi Guys, i have 13 chicks from a Rhode Island Red cock x Light Sussex, been told that the bronzy / coppery ones are females and the silver white ones are males, however i seem to have produced an entire colour chart ranging from very pale to very dark!
any ideas whats what and whos who...

Well i tried that method - and have now modified it so i can use my massive fingers
first off, cut out a bit of card to have the a hole the same size as your desired foot shape...
Second, apply Elastoplast fabric strapping...

Had a chick that i had to help out as he had been going for a day but hadnt hatched and was struggling, his foot is clubbed and has not straightened out yet unlike the others, he hobbles about a bit and can move ok but walks on it as it is in the image above (click to make it bigger) is there...

Well, the first one came out YESTERDAY morning at 4:45 AM, there was then a gap til around 4:00 PM we had 3 in 10 minutes and then another 3 in the next 4 hours followed by one in the night. so we are up to 8 now one more has piped and another hasn't, i need him to get a move on as i could do...
Well just like buses - non for 12 hours, then 5 in 3 hours - 3 within 10 minutes of each other! six have hatched now, 1 pipped, one just starting to zip and 2 with no signs.
Now, first question, Chick 1 that hatched this am at 5:00 am GMT, Its now `19:18 GMT, how much longer can i keep him in...
She is the only one so far she is mainly playing basket ball with the indian game hybrid - that however will hatch in the next few hours as its hole is getting bigger. only 2 have not pipped yet.

NOTE: When the bator light is on you can hardly see anything due to over exposure, however the light goes off every few minutes and it WILL give you a window of good viewing for a minute or so - sorry about this...

Just checked and its now at the 60% mark. a few eggs are rocking and rolling
on another note, they went in at 9:00pm on saturday the 3rd, when can i be expecting some pips?
