This is my first time using an incubator. I've always just let the Mama Hens do the work. I have no idea what I'm doing or how to do it. Placed in the incubator on April 24th, making the "hatch" date on or around May 15, 2020
ANY & ALL suggestions, ideas or help would be greatly appreciated...
I am sorry to hear about your boy! I raised my RIR from birth, and I loved him. But then he became aggressive and attacked me every day! I would just carry a stick and swat him. And then my daughter came to visit with my 2-year-old grandbaby. That rooster ATTACKED HER AND TORE HER FACE ALL...
I purchased a hen saddle (like a little apron that she wears) and it helps a LOT!! My chickens were born April 2017 and the rooster(s) still tear my girls up. They have not had feathers on their backs since LAST YEAR!! I have a Brahma rooster and a little Bantam that rules the roost! I have...
I had a RIR like that. He attacked me DAILY, he attacked my 2yr old grandbaby and knew he needed to go, but I loved him so I kept him. Finally he killed my beautiful BRAHAMA HEN, so I turned him over to the Amish. They haven't eaten him yet, but I'm sure they will. Very sad because I loved...
My little "Odd Thomas" is beautiful. I've raised him since birth and he can certainly hold his own! He watches over his (Heritage) Hens, warns of danger, calls them to eat, herds them back into the coop at night. His little crow is tiny and weak, like he's in training to be a real rooster when...
Good! Now I know what kind of chick I have....I was wondering! I bought what was suppose to be an AUSTRALORP but I was wondering, as I thought Australorp's were solid black, mine too has white at the tips of her 3 leading feathers. She is beautiful. I say SHE because that is what I bought...
I have it all lined up to drive to you. How soon are you moving? I promise they will be very well cared for. I love my babies. I currently have 4 roosters, 4 hens and 2 baby pullets. My babies free range all day and have a coop FIT FOR ROYALTY!! My boys are:
1) Americauna (that was SUPPOSE...
I can take them ALL!! I have the perfect facilities!! I have a beautiful Americans Rooster. I have a FAVUCANA hen that will be 12 months old in June .I recently ordered a Cream Legbar, Easter Egger and Favorelle which all arrived DOA!! Please contact me and I will share photos and any info...
Please help!!! My poor FAVUCANA is passing blood on her eggs. I'm worried about her .She will be a year old in June. So she has been laying since the fall. This just recently started .
I found a good home for my RIR rooster. He was too aggressive so someone took him and made a pet of him. They didn't have any other chickens, so he is becoming a PET whether he likes it or not.
Pleeeeeease help!! I ended up with 4 roosters and 4 hens. Not exactly my idea of perfect, but it is what it is. I love them all and have no intention of killing/eating or giving them away. So what can I do? I have a NHR that keeps attacking. I just swat him but he jumped my 2 yr old...
Mine both turned out to be ROOSTERS, and they are large, healthy, meaty birds but mine are just pets, we don't eat them. They will attack and flog anyone. Mean to my flock of younger birds. Beautiful but NOT a good PET chicken (the males anyway...I cannot report on the females, I don't have any)
:hit got 6 chickens in April. My RIR or whatever the heck he is (female too) have both become pretty aggressive. Just went out to the coop and found my precious little Sebright DEAD! Pretty sure that horrible rooster did it! Short of killing him, what can I do to prevent this again?? I have...
