    bald headed chicks

I am feeding them choice grain. I just recently weaned them off chick starter and they are on scratch and lay mash. I also feed them BSFL and meal worms, but not as much now since my bins are not producing as much, and the mice cleaned out my meal worms. Do you think they need more protein?

    bald headed chicks

Some of my chicks have bald heads. Does anyone know why? They have free choice to large amounts of composting fruits and vegetables, which I replenish 3 days a week .(they eat almost all of it) Plus free choice of grain. I was wondering if it could be from the bacteria. They look like buzzards.

Chickens not roosting in the coop

You need to train them. Feed them in the coop at dusk every night and lock them in. If you have to, pick up your grain in the afternoon. They need to be hungry. This will only take less then a week. Chickens are easy to train. I only feed mine what they can eat in the morning when I let them...

I was thinking of starting a program to reuse egg cartons for the backyard chicken keepers. I would need help from all of you keepers. This would keep cost down for the ones who sell their eggs for profit. I was going to ask my local feed store if it would be okay for people to drop off...
