Thought this girl was an EE but not positive. Possibly Ameraucana? She's about 22 weeks. Not laying yet but started squatting and hanging around nest boxes. Sorry the pics are blurry. She has a pea comb.
Color has changed significantly on the golden one! They were both grey and black at birth. No idea how to sex Easter Eggers. Feeling like Fatty, the golden one, is a he?
And yes, it pooped on the carpet during this photo shoot. Oops! Yucky.
Her and her friend were just the cutest black and grey puffballs when we bought them! Lol. They're about 3 weeks old now. One has a straight comb and one is maybe developing a pea comb.
Is the straight comb one an Easter egger???
We're building our coop this week! We have 15 chickens currently ages 3 and 4 weeks. (9 buffs...one is a suspected roo. 2 supposed Ameraucanas who turned out not to be, and 4 Rhode Island Reds)
Husband is set on deep litter method and also loves composting. Chickens will have a 4000 sq ft...

This buff's comb is quite clearly larger and pinker than the other 8 buff that I have! Although she/he seems to stand more like a pullet at times. Thoughts? :)
I have 9 Buff Orpingtons who are almost 3 weeks old, 4 RIR (almost 2 weeks) and 2 Ameraucanas (almost 2 weeks). They were introduced slowly about a week ago and have done great...until now.
I noticed one of the RIRs is missing some feathers/down on the side of her neck. Skin looks irritated...
They're only 2 1/2 weeks old so still too young to tell...I know, I know! But, just take a glance. :) We have 9 so chances are one or two could be a roo?! A couple of them act different from the others. One is super curious and generally more friendly and lets me pick it up easily. Another has...
Ok, so I'm a BRAND NEW chick mama. Never before owned an animal that was not a dog, cat, or fish! Our first day in we lost one of our 10 Buff Orpington's. Tiny was about 1 week old and it was traumatizing for me. 6 hours after getting her home she just died...I think she was stressed from her...
