I found out I am allowed to have my chickens in Grayslake, IL and the law states we are allowed 6 chickens. The law states "Each chicken must stay in a separate 6-square-foot enclosed coop" does this mean they each need their own coop or is this meaning they can share a coop but need that much...

I did read the municipal code for Grayslake and from what I read they allow 6 chickens and there's other little rules.

So do I look up the codes for the county or for the town?

I looked up the county and I'm not sure exactly if this is right but it said the minimum lot size is 10,000 sq ft

Hey everyone! I am new here! We are moving to the great lakes area in June. We are really hoping to get some chickens. It's hard finding information for that area so I am just hoping this group can help educate me a little on where I can have chickens in IL and more of the laws there.
