How cold is too cold for hens?

I think some people forget that animals acclimate to their climate. So a hen in Florida for example is not as used to the cold as a hen in Canada. 30 will not kill a bird, but it will make them uncomfortable if they’re used to more warmth. Mixed race chicks

Umm, no. They are just mutt chickens. They won’t have any issues that a purebred wouldn’t have. Good luck with your chicks!

    Purple combs?

They are happy and healthy right now so I’m hoping I get some more time with them. Their combs have been bright red for an entire day now. Thank you for all the comments, I will be able to handle it better if I walk outside one day and they’re dead

    Jubilee Orpington Hen or Roo?

Rounded feathers means pullet, Pointed feathers mean cockerel. I see some roundish ones but it might just be the coloring

    Sand!?!

Get a bunch of wood chips and throw it in there. I had a horribly flooded coop until I did that. Now my coop is clean and doesn’t smell. I also threw in some pine straw and grass clippings
