What would resulting chicks look like? My polish pen has a silver laced roo, 2 silver laced hens, a WC black roo, and a WC Blue hen. The silver laced roo is the one I see mating hens, he won't let the WC black roo close to them. I threw some of their eggs in my incubator as extras to fill it...

My 16 month old hens seem to be molting. Ceased egg laying and feathers everywhere. The weather has been weird here in Oklahoma, but I thought it was too early to molt? We went from cool and rainy, to the last 3 weeks being 95-100. I thought they would molt when it cools off in the fall.

We moved in May to a new house with more land. Problem was that the fencing is incomplete around the chicken pens. My March 2014 chickens are not happy with the change. They are losing a little weight. What can I do to help them out until the fences are finished? I give them their layer feed...

These chicks are 8 weeks old now. Possibility was Marans, Ameraucana, and Easter Egger. Seller actually said those separately. All were together, straight run. I'm positive of two roos, but not still need breed help along with genders.

These chicks are 6 weeks old, I believe. I have two other blues that I am positive are roos, just not sure on these. I know these aren't great pics,I will try to get better ones tomorrow.

Her name is Merle the Girl. My daughter named her for her coloring as a chick. She was chipmunk colored with kind of Merle markings on her face. Is she indeed an EE, and a pullet? She's about 7 weeks old.

She's about 6 weeks old. She has a beautiful tail! She's also a little smaller than all my other chicks.

When I got my chicks I was told Cornish. But I'm not sure that's correct. Also, these had pullet tags, but I'm leaning a little towards rooster for this one. Any help with breed and sex guesses?[/IMG][/IMG]

I got her at Atwoods, in the pullet bin. Actually I have two of them. I was told Cornish, but I'm not so sure. I was hoping that maybe I got Leghorns. :-) She is 3 weeks old in this pic. I also got two Red Sex Links, and what they told me were Black Sex Links, but kind of look like Australorps.

I wish I could have more than two! They are so much fun to have around!

Are there differences in eggs besides color? I mean, do you get a richer flavor from certain eggs? I know some people will only eat white eggs, and some that will only eat brown eggs. I have a young EE and possibly either a Buff Orp, or Buff Rock. Just wondering about egg flavor really.

How/when do I worm my girls? I would like to do it as soon as they are able. Is there a worming schedule to follow? Just want to make these little girls as healthy as possible!

I heard about this yesterday, I think. I will need to worm the girls before they start laying, right? I can get it from Atwoods or Tractor Supply, right? When do they get it? is a wormer not in the medicated feed?

That is what I got to go with our other little chick. Forgot to ask how to take the little band of her wing, though. Anyone know how to get it off? I will post a pic of her as soon as I can!
