Wheezing silkie too with green poop

Good evening I am having a silkie chicken hen with the same symptoms. Green poop. Wheezing, open mouth breathing. Maybe having a hard time breathing. But other than that she’s still quite spry and eating what not. Did your Roo make it through? And if so what would you say worked the best for you?

    Silkie with different sized nostrils

I have an 11 week old silkie pullet. She is so stinking cute. It may be hard to tell, but the nostril to the right is slightly bigger than the one on the left, like more open than the other. It doesn’t bother me, but I am just making sure it’s not because there is something stuck in her nose...

Broody turkey hatching chicken and turkey eggs question

Typically I have heard that hens will stay put until all the eggs are hatched, but don’t quote me on that. Maybe getting up to feed the current chicks for a bit but then returning to the eggs at least I would hope. I would assume chicken and turkey hens would act in this same way.

Chicks on verge of death because of sand??

Hello. I’m sorry that your chooks are struggling with sand. What kind of chickens are they? Are they still clothed in baby feathers? Silkie buff x paint/splash

So this is a bantam splash calico silkie, and I was wondering why this coloring is not seen very often? Is it because it is that difficult to achieve? This is by far the most brilliant silkie coloring I have ever seen and would like to breed this variation when I am able to finish college and...

    New Member Intro

When I first joined the community, I had some rather hateful people talking down on me for having ,hens’ that being silkies in our yard with an HOA. They said there was no way it would work, and here we are 3 years in with no problems. I recommend you talk to your neighbors within closest...

I’m only going to be getting females. I live on the corner of the street so I’m near to only one other house.

Where should I put my coop?

I was thinking about putting my coop and run here. Anyone have any thoughts? I was wanting something rather close to the house. But not close to the street or other people’s houses.

Trying to find a south Texas silkie breeder.

I’m trying to get some Silkie chicks this summer. I live in south Texas (Houston). I’m wanting to find a nearby good quality Silkie breeder. There don’t seem to be many active breeders around my area that I know of. If anyone knows of any, I would be happy to take suggestions. Also, is it...
