Hello, 3 week old turkey poult has been sick for the past week or so, finally narrowed it down to canker after discovering yellow lesions under his tongue and his swollen chin. He has been living with other turkeys this whole time so we’re going to treat them all. We wanted to go down the copper...
No. He has been getting better, hes started to drink on his own and he will only eat crumb off of the floor. His throat just under his chin still oddly sticks out but he doesn’t stand hunched over anymore and will sit with the others again.
Given him coconut oil and used the syringe to give him a mixture of crumb and water which he seems to be able to swallow. I think things can pss through because he was pooping water yesterday (he pooped white stuff earlier) but I haven’t seen him eat alone. Throat is still sticking out oddly.
He made it through the night, he’s not eating and getting thinner. I asked my mum if we can take him to the vet (i raise my poultry myself) and we can’t afford it, plus she isnt sure if our vet will take poultry. I’ll try coconut oil and egg white now.
He threw up everything and has been pooping water, he opens his mouth a lot at it weirdly looks like his food/wind pipe is stuck out and it looks swollen from that. When he opens his mouth everything looks empty but comparing to the other turkeys its like a tense hard tube through his throat...
He seems to just cough up and spit out the water. He keeps opening his mouth and stretching his neck :( poor guy keeps tryna climb on my lap for cuddles. Is there supposed to be cloudy liquid/mucusy stuff at the back of his throat? Im not sure if thats normal
Yeah I’m gonna do that tomorrow if they make it through the night. Currently almost midnight :/ thank you for your assistance though im really worried about them
Beans is hunched over now looking sad. The other 2 poults have started sneezing... not sure if it’s related I really hope its nothing https://youtube.com/shorts/nz7bO9LvQ-8?feature=share
