Okay thank you so much! Will probably be able to access vet tomorrow. We got new battery hens a couple months ago and all other hens have been there for years so I've a feeling it was them. Has already been washing eyes with saline and his eye drops from last vet visit. He has woken up and...
Can someone please help tell me what to do to help my rooster?
One eye has a swollen lump beside it and is barely opened. The other eye, I have just spent a while cleaning gently to remove some hardened yellow prices from the bottom eyelid which has helped but it still has a large white mass...
Hey guys, didn't really know where to post this but recently I've noticed that one of my rescused battery hens only every lays double yoke eggs. Just thought I'd make sure she's still healthy and if it could be something she's eating? Also if there were any world records related to that that...
They were on medicated feed and all 3 other chicks are all good, she was very thirty with watery poops but has de fluffed now. Still not interacting much at all
Brought one of my 4 month old chicks in this morning because she wasnt interacting, staying fluffed up and sleeping. There are no other symptoms but just a lil worried cause we lost a chicken about a week ago. Any help would be appreciated
*update*
She passed away
I already did that and she'slighter than the other by quite a bit but all her poops are normal and her vent is clear, I've just given her electrolytes and sugar water, thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep you updated
She fell over trying to get down a very small ramp so her balance is off, she can stand fine but her wings are droopy the weather has be 17°C ish the last couple days so she's fine weather wise, she's fluffed up but no droopy or dull eyes
I always get ex-battery hens so they often die quite a bit younger then other hens, I have one hen about 4-5 years old who had a fall this morning she's quite elderly and couldnt get up. I brought her inside and after she eats she shivers like she's having problems swallowing, has anyone had...
I'm getting 4-6 chicks and going out today so I'll have a look :) otherwise I'll probably use a 100w red heat lamp because I have access to that. It's very hard to get anything right now with covid :)
Hey!
I'm getting chicks in a couple weeks for the first time so recently got equipment for them, the bulb and lamp protecter were advertised together but when they arrived the protecter says 175Watt max while the bulb says 250 watt. Is this safe to use? :jumpy
I used sand in mine and the hens love it, it heats up nicely in the sun as well and they love resting on it :D use whatever you fell is best for yourself
