I have a hen that was showing signs of respiratory infection..after a couple weeks of LA 200, vet RX and humidifier she is back to normal and devouring her yogurt and food. How long after all signs of sickness are gone can I return her to the flock?
How many of you would or have culled a chicken with an obvious respiratory infection ? I'm treating one but nervous she will infect my flock once returned from isolation and feeling better. Symptoms are gurgling and open mouth breathing. I am.treating with LA 200 and vet RX.
Ugh. I accidentally only gave .2 CC to a small polish chicken today, I misread the directions. Should I give her the rest today or wait till day 3. So she should have got 1.0 ml or the full syringe today correct?
A couple of my hens have developed an upper respiratory infection. I currently have them on oxytetracycline soluble powder mixed in water, and using vet Rx. Does anyone else use the oxytetracycline for this? Anything else I can be doing for the ladies?
Dealing with lots of moisture in Washington state. I use the white shavings in my coop/hen house but wondering which would absorb the moisture better. Straw or shavings or both?
