Not an expert, but I would be concerned using something made for horses on a bird. Different systems, different intolerances, different concentrations. Is any mite-treatment for parrots or other birds available? That's what we use over here.

Yeah, turns out it has been recomended in America. In my country no vaccine has been approved for pregnant women. Nor children under 16. We kind of have the opposite problem, lot of people wanting the vaccine, but we lack supply, and the goverment is being very causcious.
