How do their combs fair in the winter? It looks as if the roos have quite large single combs.
They do ok, some get bit and some don't, but they don't seem to really have a problem with it.

I'm sure they would have to do more, anyone in Michigan, or Upstate NY would have horrible humidity troubles. That's one of the reasons that the Army moved their cold weather camp from here to NY... wetter and much more brutal than our cold!

LOL Of course she ignores it. She has you trained already!! She knows if she holds out long enough she'll get PEOPLE food. I'd bet if you let her go hungry for a day she'll eat the dog food.
And being a small dog, she's nowhere NEAR being old. Small dogs easily live to 16+ years.
