    If the feet are white or pinkish white on bottom they are Australorps if they are yellow they are Jersey giants. The only other way to tell is mature body size a jersey giant hen will be on average around 4 pounds heavier than an Australorp when mature.

    They are Australorps, they may be bantam Australorps but they are definitely Australorps.

    I've raised cochin bantams for several years now and all cochins have feathered feet. Also I've never had any issue free ranging any of my bantams Japs, Cochins, or OEGB.

    That's what's throwing me off. I looks like she/he has saddle feathers but from everthing I've researched a cockerel at this age should have longer and more flowing sickle feathers.

    All of them except my japs and Seramas free range together so they're really pretty low maintenance. Once you gets used to waking up at 4:30 every morning to the sound 7 or 8 roosters crowing outside your window it's not to bad.

    I have no problem with it being a rooster or hen. I raise Japanese bantams and Seramas and have 20 leghorn and australorp laying hens, a silkie rooster, and few cochin bantams. I just have very little knowledge of sumatras.

    4.5 months old, I believe it's a black sumatra but not sure if it's a pullet or cockerel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
