    Quail bedding?

I use shavings and add apple cider vinegar to their water from time to time. Something like one tablespoon per gallon. Keeping everything dry really makes a difference too.

Do quail get aggressive during late spring and early summer?

One of my female jumbo quail has started chasing and pulling the feathers on two of my other females. I separated her for a day but since I returned her, one of the females is starting to look picked on again. They've been together since hatching and I've never had any problems with these birds...

Feather picking; what would you do?

I recently introduced a new group of hens to the coop and one female jumped over another to attack one of the newest members. She continued to attack for a good two minutes or so. SOMETHING KILLED MY QUAIL

Sorry to hear this. Don't give up on raising quail. We caught a huge raccoon climbing up the outdoor pen but the 1/4" wire kept everyone safe. Not to mention me and my broom coming after it!! :lau What a sight!!!

    Female quails attacking each other

I've used a plastic tub with netting on top when there is a need to separate a bird.

So glad I found you - thanks for having me!

Hi and Welcome! You are in the right place for support and answers to pressing questions. My suggestion is that you put 1/4" hardware cloth under your coop run if you are worried about animals digging under it. Best of luck!!
