Update - see no change. She isn’t after it at all. So it will be a week that they arrived and how much longer before I can move them in with the flock? And would I do that after they roost at night? Just transfer to the main coop?
I was given four 2 year old barred rock hens. I brought them home yesterday afternoon and put them in a separate coop than my existing flock. When loading one of the hens, I noticed a swelling on her right eye. I touched it and it was squishy. So enough trama yesterday moving them and I I...
Noticed after the first humid/hot spell we had a couple months ago one of my old hens, Mary started to make sounds when breathing. There are no other symptoms that I have seen. Eyes not swollen, no bubbles from eyes, no discharge from nose. She is still the first one out of the coop to have...
I have 8-9 year old hen that is very raspy- can hear gurgle- so spot to a vet who wouldn’t see her but told me if a penicillin that I could use for her. So for a week straight every morning she received 1cc. She cleared up just a little. Now what??
She has been drinking and she has been eating. When I went out to put them to bed I found her by the watered outside when all the others where in the coop. I separated her from the others in another part of the coop. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
She is still eating and drinking. And not scratching around. Her poop looks normal. Here comb is purple
Not sure if she is laying. Getting about the same amount of eggs a week.

I have multiple waterers and feeders - the feed is the egg crumble and I broadcast scratch. Not to mention the goody tub that has assortment of goodies- oatmeal, oyster shell, egg shell, raisins, popcorn etc. I have never seen aggression in the flock. When I put them to bed I watched them in...
So my house chicken is feeling much better so I decided she could spend time with the flock. Knowing that the chance of others picking on her. Boy oh boy was I all backwards. The old arthritic hen was the bully. I called the field trip quits when she started pecking a hen who was in a...
Okay been treating Mary every morning with coconut oil with a dropper and messaging crop. It stays the same everyday. She eats great- crop gets really full and she poops all the time. Her water has ACV as well. It seems as though I stress her more than help her. Think since it’s not impeding...
