The adult ducks were given to me by a coworker and I was told they were Rouen; they sure do look like Rouens to me. Here is a pic of the trio before the one girl was killed.
The yellow ducklings eyes are black. I managed to get better pics today.
i had three Rouen ducks (2 females and one male) up until about a month ago, when unfortunately one of the girls was killed by a bobcat The day she was killed, I took 4 of their eggs and placed them under a broody chicken just to see what would happen, I thought at least there might be a chance...
Thanks! My husband can build pretty much anything he sets his mind too; and I'm so thankful that my dad taught me how to use tools and do stuff when I was a kid as well. I'm sure I didn't appreciate it at the time, but I certainly do now that I can build/make things on my own without always...
In the fall of 2013, I sadly made the decision to rehome all of my chickens because they were being picked off one by one by a hungry bobcat in the area. The coop I had at the time did not have an enclosed run, so unless I wanted to keep them locked up all the time, there was no way I could...
Darn is right! This is the 3rd summer in a row that a bobcat is terrorizing us. They are protected so legally we aren't allowed to do anything to them...although if my husband gets one in his sights I think it is time to SSS. We are both so sad that he got the duck this morning - we loved that...
Need to rehome my entire flock of chickens and one lonely female rouen duck. Free to GOOD HOME ONLY - please good pet home only, not for stew pot.
Every summer it seems it is the same story; a bobcat picks off my flock one at a time. It is just not in the cards right now to build a run, and...
I forgot to add; I don't hear any breathing noises; weazing, etc. No sneezing or coughing. No shaking the head.
I've been trying to do some research online as to what it could be, but none of the symptoms really seem to fit her.
Hi everyone-
Last week, I noticed one of my serama hens was looking like she possibly wasn't feeling good; sitting fluffed up and not very active. I tried to catch her a couple times but was unsuccessful, as soon as I tried to grab her she's perk up and run away. On Sunday afternoon, I was...
No...never heard of this. Can you fill me in? I was just commenting to my husband yesterday that it would be great to be able to find some Amish that do horse wagon repairs or even break horses to drive...I know there are out there but heck if I know how to find them. Never thought about...
You've put up some good arguments. Maybe I'd consider it more if we had a butcher here close to us - there is NO WAY I could do it myself. We live so much in the boonies there isn't much around here; I've certainly never found someone that will do it.
Anyone in Michigan need a rooster or two? Please?!? LOL. I have a few I need to rehome, my poor hens desperately need a break. I have a nearly 1 year old Wheaten Ameracauna roo, 2 approx 9 week old Wheaten or Blue Wheaten Ameracauna cockerels, along with several Serama roosters. You can see...
