Thank you so much! The food now is a crumble (mine hate the pellets) and is pretty bang on with the stats you provided + or .5% I appreciate your help and your time. <3
I am so sorry, I am just now seeing this. I tried to do the necropsy too but couldn't find anyone in my area available. We have buried all our chickens in the same place where we bury the cats/dogs that pass. They are like pets to us and I have been beating myself up pretty bad for this new...
I am looking for advice. Silkies are 21 weeks. RSL's are 18 weeks. Columbians are 17 weeks. No eggs as of yet.
Everything I have read and spoken to other Silkie owners is that they require more protein than the typical 16%. I have everyone on 19% protein and the silkies have been gaining...
We are. You are not alone. We have lost 3 in the past month. Just now am I putting it all together that it’s Mareks. We can be support buddies. I’ve been racking my brain for weeks know wondering what I am doing wrong, why me, maybe I’m not cut out for this etc. I’ve come back to the same things...
I have syringed him water and vitamins. What can I give him for nutrients? Mash the food? He/ she is unable to eat on his own and is barely able to take from syringe.
His head is completely upside down. When I found him this morning he was trying to get his head upright. Now he’s very weak and and just lets his head dangle upside down. Beak facing up. Has no control and had to have it held upright to drink and take syringe. Lethargic and warm to the touch.
Silkie born end of Feb 28th.
Found this morning with a twisted neck. Beak to the sky. Twitching. Not able to walk. It appears to be wry neck or a neck injury. I have been giving them Nutri French every couple of weeks in their food/water. I gave it a dose of that now. What meds help? He / she...
Yes I am in touch with them ty. Other than that there aren’t many in my area but reaching out where I can.
They are on my speed dial as they saved my ferrets life.
Everyone is much better and they accepted the sick bird no issues. However today one of the 13week old Maran pullet suddenly died. She was fine this morning eating running around. Acting like a normal chicken. No signs of sickness. We had just finished the coccidia treatment but she didn’t seem...
Edited: all are in a covered contained run with zero free range access.

Ty! I am prepared for the worst hoping for the best. And that was my plan but after reading some horror stories thought maybe my plan wasn't as well thought out as it should be.
Dre is doing much better and will likely be putting him/her back into the coop soon with the others. How should I go about doing that? It has been almost a week and his strength is getting to where he can manage the ramp etc.
You guys have been amazing!! I reached out to several fb groups I belong to and no one really show any interest to help me so I appreciate this so much. I have the vitamins on hand, do I give those in between Corrid treatments during the break? Or wait until the second Corrid treatment is over?
Thank you so much. I can't say it enough you have been such a huge help.
He is quarantined for now, still. Much better this morning. Crop was empty and he started eating. Gave him meds directly and medicated water directly. His butt was much better this morning as well.
The others seem fine...
Will do. It is dark at night. Light is on during the day.
Should I remove the food/water in the coop for the rest of the flock and check all crops in the morning as a baseline for the rest? I had been leaving food/water in their coop at night due to their age but can remove no problem.
My...
