Hey all,
I’ve lately had to make the regrettable decision of looking for a new home for my flock. They have limited space in the city, and as much as I’d like to keep my ladies, it’s better for them to move out. :hitI have an ameraucana (Dignan), a black Australorp (Dot), a blue rock (Bean), a...
Hey all,
My flock has problems. Again.

Hi all,
My longtime trouble chicken, a 2-year-old Ameraucana, has toenails that are getting pretty out of control. I have tried clipping them in small increments in the past, but it hasn't seemed to work. If I clip them short and cut the quick, will I risk them getting infected? Thanks for any...

Thanks! On reading that article, I've decided that they are lice, not mites. I saw some nits near the vent feathers of another bird, according to the article that is a lice thing. I'll be treating for that.
Oof. Guess I should watch out for feather peckers too 😭 thanks again guys.
Hey all,
My ameraucana is losing neck and beard feathers. On further inspection today, I noticed little grayish bugs crawling around on her bald spots. Are they mites? What can I do for her, and how can I prevent my other hens from getting mites?
Thanks for any help!
