Thanks. Updated.
Going on second winter with chickens. Their first molt this fall. Used supplemental lighting when daylight dropped to about 11 hours/day last year, set on timer. Same this year....so recently started. Up until now, been getting an egg a day from each with only two soft eggs...
Thank each of you for responding.
I did check and there are still feathers coming in for both chickens. I've been getting one good egg a day. While I thought the soft egg was from just one hen, they might both be laying soft eggs.

One egg every day quickly became two every day! And, right on time at about 18 weeks. The photo shows a week and a half of eggs. My ladies squawk to announce their gifts. Happy and grateful.
She's 9 weeks old. Smooth red skin, but not always red! Both sides. Am I being a nervous new owner? So much to learn! Arash would look nastier, right?
I appreciate your help. 🐣
Thank you for your reply. It is smooth and looks more like exposed skin. My other chic doesn't have it. Could it be just starting to show? New owner here!
One of my new chicks has bare skin behind her ears. She doesn't seem bothered, is eating. My other chick is fine. Any ideas as to what this might be? I've applied Banixx thinking it is a rash. Advice welcome! Thanks.
