Please at least keep the hole clean and covered to your best ability.
I completely understand not being able to bring yourself to kill your PET (yes, contrary to what people say on here, coturnix quail ARE actually kept as pets and not just treated like expendable livestock in every case)...
Ahhh okay, well I will certainly hunt around for feed with higher values. In the meantime I'll give her more crumbles. I'm going to make sure and keep an eye on her for worsening symptoms. Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it. She was the very first hen I ever hatched and I...
That's strange. I just took a look at the minimums for coturnix quail and all the levels were within the correct ranges.
It wouldn't make sense for her to be the only one with these issues, unless she specifically is having absorption issues. Also, I feed them these crumbles mixed in.
(There...
She's on this feed, with some gamebird crumbles mixed in as well. This is a really new issue for her, started about a week or two ago. Shes also an older bird, a year and a half old, if that helps.

What a terrible thought! With how popular chickens/quail keep getting as times get more and more bleak, I really don't think it's possible. Unless something like what someone mentioned above happens, like some variety of avian flu that targets game birds or something.
Personally I use the smallest size zip ties they sell, and got a bunch of different colors. I wait until about 2 weeks to fit them with it, choose some different colors, (I avoid using red for pecking issues) and cut off the extra of course and round off the sharp cut edge with a nail file. You...
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this is either a button or a coturnix. Unfortunately since Japanese quail (Coturnix japinoca) and chinese painted quail/button quail (Synoicus chinensis) are not of the same genus and therefore cannot successfully breed.
