Well its been a minute since I've been on here! Its finally been nice outside here so ive been taking advantage of that! I think I'm 20 pages behind, but hope everyones hatches and chicks are doing well! My group of 26 are due to hatch tomorrow and I have 1 that already pipped this morning :jumpy
I had to pull 3 eggs last night 😭 2 were very early quitters and 1 had a blood ring. My very first time having a blood ring. This is only my 3rd time hatching so I knew it would happen eventually but I'm still sad. Down to 27 eggs on day 7 now.
On a positive note, my ducks started laying again...
That's chicken math right there 🤣 you say you are in no way getting getting more or keeping a certain one when deep down inside you know that's not true 😆
Oh awesome! Yay a hatch buddy!!
My first group are a week old today and I moved them out yesterday. Yes I miss having them just right there! Me and my kids would just sit on the floor and play with chicks all the time 😆 Now we have to bundle up and go out into the cold (still winter here in...
Candled my March hatch #2 group last night. They are on day 5 today. 30/40 are fertile and developing!!! 🥳🥳 My largest group yet. My 1st march hatch got graduated to our brooder out in our workshop/garage. They were getting too big already for my little tote brooder I had set up in the house...
Whelp here we go again lol. I took out the automatic egg turner this time and was able to fit in 10 extra eggs to get 40 total. Will be hand turning them for a few days until I can take out the clears. We shall see how this goes 😅 hoping for a decent sized group 🤞 this hatch will be due march 27th!
Boy this is taking fooorrreeever 🥴 my last hatch (which was my first time hatching ever) most of them pipped at night while I was sleeping so I only had to wait a few short hours after I woke up for chicks so this seems like a long wait this time haha!
