EXACTLY! I feel like they were trying to dump all the roos they had. Will NEVER buy from Hoover or any of the farm stores they supply.

These are only 3 that I'm asking about in this thread. The actual ratio of cockerels to pullets is working out to be more like 70% cockerel.

They're just 3 of about 30 that I bought as "rainbow pullets" (NEVER again!) So, I think there are only probably a dozen or so different breeds, therefore, duplicates of certain ones maybe.

All three? The comb on the one is so much smaller, I feel like at least she's a pullet. That is, if they're all the same breed.

3 more chickens from the same batch of "rainbow pullets" I got from a local farm store. (About half of the pullets are turning out to be cockerels and I think two of these might be.) Does anyone know what breed they might be and verify whether two are cockerels, while one is a pullet? TIA!!

I hope that's not what they are! Says not to keep them beyond their processing age of 9-11 weeks! I wouldn't think a farm store would be including a breed like that in with others that are for backyard flocks, but who knows?

Hi - newbie to Barred Rocks. I *THINK* I have two Barred Rocks (they came as a "rainbow pullets" variety from a local farm store - never again!) I've looked at so many pics and read so many things about how to tell the difference in gender and I feel like mine have pullet feather...
