I'm not sure it's age I got it from a feed store it amazes me they didn't see it, and let us know what we should do. They knew I was a first time chicken owner I'm so happy I went and read that, I'm not sure what would have happened had I not wanted to learn everything to know if I was doing it...

Yes next step buy an incubator and go somewhere to buy some eggs that I know have a chance in hatching I cooked the egg with my homemade one so I guess you learn from every mistake!! When I broke it open it was pretty much a hard boiled egg.

So here are the pictures it got me thinking that what if it isn't a chicken egg bc it was in my dog's mouth so hopefully that is what it is. I'm not sure if other eggs can resemble chicken eggs that would be scary honestly!! Depending on what it was if it isn't.

I will get one tonight I use my phone to candle it so I will need to wait till my husband gets home to take a picture, I am glad I found this group because I'm planning on getting an incubator and more chicken eggs. I tried this before I knew anything so I built my own incubator I'd much rather...

Yes I have that's what I'm confused about, on top of the fact it doesn't look like any of the pictures I've seen I'm using a homemade incubator. I said down below since learning more about home much it depends on consistent heat and humidity being at a certain range I'm sure this wasn't the best...

Yes I'm planning on getting more and an actual incubator. I actually googled how to build one but since then all the things I've learned I'm feeling like a homemade one wasn't such a good idea, since temp and humidity play such a big role. My dog brought the chicken egg home in her mouth and...

So not the greatest way to get an egg, but my dog actually brought one home in her mouth. I'm not sure from where but I had to fix my fence bc she's obviously going somewhere she shouldn't be, so I'm not sure. I assumed maybe I could hatch it bc I've been wanting some chickens.

As of right now I'm trying to incubate a chicken egg I found not sure if it was ever fertilized at this point or if it's alive so I came here. Hopefully I can try again if this one doesn't work out but I refuse to get rid of it until I know it's no good. So here I am!!

So thank you for everyone's help it didn't look normal bc my homemade incubator literally cooked the egg so wether it had or had not been fertilized i don't think I would have ended up with a baby chick next step buy an incubator 🤦 I guess I learned my lesson on that one!!
