Help! Vent gleet or something else? (Pic attached)

Looks darker than the pictures I’ve seen of discharge from vent gleet. Noticed she was separated from the flock and had no energy to eat. She seemed very disoriented and had trouble standing for a moment when I put her back down. She is currently separated in a dog crate with food and water.

Lump on rooster’s back (pictures attached)

I was checking my rooster today (had some lice we treated last month) and noticed a large, warm bump below his neck. There are no feathers growing on it. I accidentally plucked a loose feather which is the red dot. Any ideas as to what this could be? He is acting normal.

    Yellow chalky discharge around vent

Details: Several weeks ago I brought home three adult hens, two Blue Andalusians and a Plymouth Rock. They are all around 1.5 years old and molting. The Plymouth Rock has only layed one egg so far, I assumed this is because she had bumbles on both feet and has been recovering since I removed...

Silkie pullet head shaking (Should I keep confined?)

Phyllis came out of the coop this morning and ate a little bit before she started to bash her head into the ground like in the video. I figured she was probably trying to dislodge something and did some quick research on impacted crops. I massaged her but I am a new chicken owner so I couldn’t...

    Silkie sexing (streamer?)

I was holding this fella and noticed this long, skinny feather had popped up. Is the confirmation he’s a rooster?

    Age of rooster *with pictures

Hi! I recently acquired a rooster when he wandered onto my property on a 120° day. He’s been great and I’m going to get him some hens very soon. Is there any way to tell how old the fella is? I’m thinking he’s pretty young since his legs are so skinny and spur is small but I have no prior...

    Rooster Behavior Analysis

I’ve had this fella for a few weeks now and now that he’s pretty used to me I’m curious about his behavior. Today he hopped out of his enclosure while I was bringing materials over to expand his fence. I was surprised that he decided to stay close to me given his sudden freedom lol. Before I...

Looking for Started Pullets in Southern Nevada

I recently acquired a rooster, and now that he's settled in and comfortable I'd like to find some hens to keep him company. Preferably a decent egg laying breed or some fellow Polish chickens but those aren't deal breakers.

    New Rooster Owner

Hello everyone. I am completely new to chickens - a rooster wandered onto our property about two weeks ago. I haven't been able to locate his owner so I figured at this point he's most likely not getting claimed. He's a polish rooster, very cautious but not aggressive. I've been able to pick...
