New to this , and can have no more than 5 hens . I live in a city and have a fair sized back yard . Should I build a coop from scratch , get one as a kit and put it together , or get plans and go to the lumber yard ?

Hello to all . I recently retired and looking for a new hobby . I have no chickens yet and if I do get some I will have to wait till spring . Hoping to get more advice between now and then . I like to go fishing but know I cannot do that all the time . I know nothing about raising chickens .
