Our girls have been enjoying little excursions to the run as field trips. It's been stormy, so they haven't been out for a couple of days and are oh-so restless. Thoughts on letting 6 week old girls (mostly feathered, but still a little fuzz) out in the run where they will attempt to dust bathe...
🐤 one week old chicks...hatchery said to ensure there is always food, which we've done. Wondering when to switch to mealtimes? What has worked for you? No mama hen with them. Thanks in advance.
Well, we did it. We introduced our 2 dogs to the baby chicks. 1 dog at a time. One dog seemed to see some fuzzy fluffy things to protect. Maybe. He's big on catch and release with other animals. The other keeps whining for his Chick-fil-A. 🐤
We were blessed with 11 healthy chicks, but planned housing for 7 hens. They are all together in the brooder. When it's time, they'll have a large fenced area with the housing inside the fence. Should we just add another smaller house, or get one larger house for all 11 to share? Pros/cons...
