So did he keep any at all? I need to get him more eggs for a better selection.
I've got about 600 or so Spanish eggs in the incubator now out of the birds we traded.

ps...Wayne..... I guess turbo is getting some whites from you. I might put a few kittens and a puppy in the back of your truck as you leave the show.
Haha! What kind of puppies do you have around there now?

I think I am supposed to pick up some birds from you guys next weekend for Rudy. Are you going to lucasville too?
We will be at Kentuckiana...but I wont make it to the Lucasville spring show, spring shows mess up my breeding pens, so I try to limit them to just a few. Are you bringing...

Geez! I hope you are selling an awful lot of chicks to help pay for all of that!
I choked when I got the feed bill!!! Trust me. Last year we had more chicks/breeders and the bill was about $150 less for the month of April. Feed has gone up $3 per bag around here...

I should take a picture of all the chicks running around here. Our feed bill was $730 last month.....I wish feed would go back down.

There will be hundreds of good breeders. The Louisville show never disappoints. I usually try to make either the fall or spring show every year. It's one of the bigger, better shows in the Midwest. If you haven't been you should definitely make a point of going. They usually have a...
I have only got 3 eggs out of my giant hen. The rooster doesn't seem too interested in her either. I'm not sure if I'm going to try to get more or just get rid of them. They sure do eat a lot.

Harry Kolacz. The line he had was a good one. If you need another rooster my dad can probably help you out. PM me for details.

Hi Jonathan. How's the hatching going?

I live between Saint Joe and Butler-----about 40 min from New Haven or so.
Well, I really did it this time! I went back to Rural King to get my refund----in chicks, not money----and they were out of chicks! What ticked me off was the way the manager acted about it when I asked if I...

Where at in northeast Indiana are you located? I just moved up here a couple of years ago. I live in new haven.
Josh, thanks for posting the shamo pics. Cool looking birds.

This is off the BLR topic but I couldn't pass up this opportunity to ask if you could post some pics of your shamo bantams. I go to several shows across the country every year and I've only seen, maybe, two shamo bantams.
Thanks,
Jonathan

These are bantam blacks and blues. Dick though the mottled gene may still be present in some of these, so I was wondering how mottleds actually feather out. I'm bringing a couple of hens down to him tomorrow so I may bring these with me to see what he has to say.
Oooooh ok. I...
If those are pure salmon you just need to be patient. They should come in all black. Some males will, on occasion, show some "frosting" on there black feathers. That is bot desirable, but don't make any culling decisions until they have their adult plumage.

Sorry to hear that. It sounds like you'll have some young ones up and coming. You should have a couple of males in there. If not I'm sure we'll have some extras a little later in the year if you need another.

Mrs. Turbo :
