mine dropped a couple weeks ago, found it got unplugged somehow, and i thought i lost all of them but i let them go and they started to hatch about 3 days late. i am having a slow hatch of about 1-3 per day but they are still hatching. tomorrow will be a week past the hatch date, im up to about...
they are on the ground and my chickens free range, so they have been near thrm but not in the pen. she is the only one of 5 that are about 4-5 months old that is showing any symptoms.
i noticed that one of my 4 month old peas is holding her wings a little low and looks like she is yawning alot, like all the time, should i be concerned?
they are from 2 march hatches. i can buy eggs localy for like .15 so i think im gonna just start buying before they quit for the winter. i can set 1500 at a time so if i set next month, april or may i should be rolling.
oh well, ive waited this long, perhaps i can build my flock in the spring. that is if i can keep people from buying them. they must be rare in s.c. im thinking about just buying eggs to hatch.
i am in central s.c. only one adult peafowl (approx 1.5 y/o) in the large flight pen that is 20x50x12. the babies are about 4 months old standing approx. 16-18 inches tall. breeding season for the pheasants seems to be over.
i set 4 fresh and 21 refridgerated pekin eggs today. we will see in 28 days.
i gave the cold ones 1.5 days to come up to room temperature and about 12 hours in the shop at 82 degrese before putting them in.
i did mark the fresh eggs so i can tell what hatches.
