I was hoping it wasn't normal!! I am 2 months in as well. I am finally getting 3 eggs a day from 20 hens!! For a while it was 2 eggs every 3 days!! So, I'm guessing this is normal behavior. Can someone come along and give us a time frame?

It has white earlobes. Definitely a Black Minorca after reading up on the breed. The Hamburgs are very skiddish! I move wrong and they get everyone else upset! Surprisingly, the White Leghorns come closest to eating a mealworm out of my hand! Thanks again!

I didn't have my chickens in the winter last year. As it getting colder soon, I have questions. My coop has a screened window and a full sized dooe that is always open that leads out to the open caged in area. Should I close off the window, close the door, add a heat lamp or any combination...

I got my first egg at 19 weeks. The Leghorns I think. Not sure since I have 24 chickens. 5 today, not quite a week later.

I just paid $30 each for two rolls of 24" X 25 foot!!! I should have seen this earlier. The CSN is that price for 100 feet!!!

I was worried about that, but they seem much more interested in roosting on the ledges around the coop (which is equally as messy on the walls) they aren't roosting inside the boxes. I'm wondering if I need to try to make them move to the roosts by raising them and making the ledge...
