    Many of the commercial hatcheries sell "Ameraucana" chickens, charging more for them. True Ameraucana and Araucana chickens are really quite rare and to guarantee the BLUE color egg you are best to purchase from a breeder. A lot of time from the hatcheries you will get that lovely MINT color...

    I wrote Araucana in bold because the poster is talking about an Ameracauna and I know they are different but similar in some ways.

    But this one has NEVER layed? The other possibility is hiding eggs somewhere. Do they free range at all? When did she start squatting for you?

    I have read that Aracauna's are NOT good winter layers at all. Maybe this is the problem? You're absolutely certain you have a female too?
