    Quick LGD question

Wow that's weird then. Must depend on the individual dog, though from what I'm gathering here most would wander if not fenced? Or maybe he was introduced to the stock later in life? Did they get a new dog?

    Quick LGD question

Yeah I guess that sort of thing or like of they're in a work setting and some trespasses, would they bite them or bark first or? Ahh okay, that makes sense. Thanks :)

    Quick LGD question

Thanks :) I actually thought I read once that some Maremma's can be a little more aggressive, idk if it was towards their people or strangers or both, but they seem to be great so maybe it was just one dog and I've been wrongly judging them hah either way, they both do seem friendlier than...

    Quick LGD question

Thanks to you both, this is definitely helpful. So is it possible they can be loving and nice or at least not aggressive to their owners but be aloof or aggressive to other people? I guess I was more asking before less if they'll attack their owner (seems that would be call for replacement)...

    Quick LGD question

This is all great information, thanks :) Although I do have another question: you know how with most puppies they say socialization is really important? Is that important with LGDs and/or helping them determine a threat or do they just stay out with the livestock? And do they ever attack when...

    Thanks, that makes sense :)

    Quick LGD question

Thanks for all the input everybody :) I also wonder if the one that wandered had a flock to protect or was more bought as a "pet"?? Cause if he didn't have a flock he might be more likely to roam? Although either way, it seems odd to me that they would let him roam. LGDs aren't exactly cheap...

    Quick LGD question

Sorry, keep forgetting to answer hah anyway, thanks for the input :) I think you're right, definitely a bad idea. I'm assuming because he or she would think the territory isn't big enough and go roam the neighborhood?

    Quick LGD question

So we don't really have a need for an LGD right now and plus a second dog is expensive, especially another big dog, but I was just thinking about LGDs the other day and thought of kind of a dumb question... Can LGDs be trained to keep the animals on the property? Or would they just take off...
