As far as "how long do I leave this guy penned up in coop"? well....I would say at least 3 or 4 weeks. I kept mine penned 3 weeks, but after I let them out, WHOOSH! they took flight. DH and I just stood there stareing....mouths hanging open...3 weeks of working with them and feeding them, and... -

With th e Muscovy...the rocking back and forth is normal..they will also bob thier heads up and down...and HISS! Its sooo cute...and they wag thier tails when they greet you. They can be very loveing. -

Yup....what a pretty Muscovy. He/she looks a little beat up....but really fat and healthy. Where did it come from? By the looks of those feathers, I dont think it flew in.Congrats...its a beauty!! They love cracked corn....greens...and will eat layer pellets/crumbles. My duckies get game bird...
