Ok final numbers.... 7 out of 8 turkey eggs hatched...but one passed over night and another needed special attention. Out of 36 chicken eggs set 9 were infertile and 2 blood rings so went into lockdown with 25, and hatched 19. one started to zip but got turned over during bowling and died, and...
I have 3 external pips in turkey eggs.... out of 8 but one doesn't look good. The chickie eggs look like they may take all the way till Saturday to hatch.
I moved my easter eggs into my hatcher yesterday.... 8 turkey and 25 chicken..... I am a little early but I needed the room in the good bator for the new turkey eggs that were starting to age more than I like.... I set another 17turkey and 7 duck eggs to top off the 3 turkey and 15 chicken eggs...
I candled over the weekend and had to pull 9 clears and a blood ring out of the 24 that I put in for a friend. ... interesting thing is all of the eggs he gave me to put in are doing great lots of little bouncing embryos.
One of the reasons I can cover mine is all the works are in the bottom including air vents..... not the same with my brinsea everything is on top I might be able to wrap the bottom but not the top
Not bad.... I was bad this time a friend asked me to put 3 duck eggs in about 10 days after my batch was already going, so I had 3 eggs that still needed turned during lockdown and when everything else hatched I gave it a quick wipe down and put the turner back in and it's still going..... I...
I am running a brinsea ovation 56 ex with humidity pump. I love it my only complaint I had was getting the humidity up for lockdown.... I finally built a hardware cloth "tray" and put a glass pie pan under it to help with up the humidity. That worked well I coversed the hardware cloth with shelf...

Wow! Very close! What breed is your roo? Mine is a mystery he was given to me as a white leghorn but is not.... he weights 14 lbs and is very well behaved. I think I will be setting some eggs from his pen this go around.... depending on space in the bator. Lol
It took me a while to get my hatching figured out, I am at 6000 feet in Colorado and discovered that I have to do things differently than someone closer to sea level.... humidity seems to be the biggest change for me.... I did discover by accident that Very Dark Brown eggs do well at a much...
