Final chick hatch. Five. Still waiting on ducks.

I was getting ready to toss out those duck eggs that didn’t hatch so that I could get ready for the next hatch. I wanted to candle them first, though. Just to see what went wrong. Seven of them are still alive! A couple aren’t even fully developed yet and some are there, but haven’t pipped...

I have all of the chicks in the brooder. Candles one of the duck eggs. I can see mass and red blood vessels. No internal pip. Left them in.

5 chicks hatched. Not a single duck.

It’s been 28 days for them

None of the duck eggs have pipped, yet. Three EE babies out and peeping. When I candled all of the eggs at lockdown the ducks looked good.

All tuckered out. Hatching is hard work.

One little black EE mix baby chirping quietly to the eggs. Couple more pips. None of the duck eggs have pipped yet.

Two pips! Both minty green EE eggs.

I heard peeping this morning but all’s been quiet since.

I don’t see any pips yet, but I hear peeping!

Mine just went into lockdown yesterday. I know I shouldn’t expect anything till hatch day, but dangit! Waiting is sooo hard!:th

It’s at 65 now and temp is staying steady.
