It will take a little while for any medicine to work. Sit with her and comfort her if she seems to like it. You’re doing all you can for her.

I would think penicillin or baytril. Those both seem fairly broad spectrum and I think you can still get them otc.

They fight over the shrimp tails when I have them to give. I’m no antibiotic expert either but it may be time to try. https://sites.google.com/a/poultrypedia.com/poultrypedia/medicine-chart I’ll browse through this list if you will too.

She could be over exerted from feather growth. I had 2 fist year molters this year who you could see didn't feel well. They just looked miserabe. Extra protein is always recommended. I also give mine shrimp tails. That gross red crusty part you throw away....they love it.

Her wounds look great! So glad she is doing better. If she’s drinking lots of water it can make her poop watery. She may have over done it in the garden so I would do what eggcessive suggested and keep an eye on her.

That would be my guess. The more water she drinks the more watery her poop will be. You could try cutting back on the treats and see if her poop improves.

She looks good from that picture! Don’t be surprised if that section on her neck comes off and has to rescab. Her feathers will come back. It may take a while. If they are broken off and not plucked they won’t come back till she molts. Pulled feathers will usually come back quicker as her body...

I was going with what "felt right". I started with Vetricyn and Neosporin. She was clearly unhappy away from the flock so I knew I had to come up with a way to get her out with them. In the beginnng I changed her bandage 2x a day. I would pull her off the roost at night. Change her bandage and...

You'll see honey labeled organic. It's just not possible. Beekeepers have no idea what the bees are eating to make honey. That would be a serious tracking operation. LOL

She probably won’t lay eggs for a little bit. She doesn’t really need the calcium but I don’t think it will hurt her to have it. Hopefully she recovers fairly quick. I wouldn’t give her extra calcium right now but I think layer feed should be fine. You may get other differing opinions.

So I double checked with a beekeeper I know. Honey from the continental US and Europe cannot be organic. With the odds of getting fake Manuka honey your best bet is to get local raw honey. The darker it is the better for wounds.

Yep. Raw honey can be good for lots of things. I used sugar on my hen because I didn’t want honey dripping off her. That was my concern. Honey is sticky. Keep that in mind. You can VCO her feathers to try and keep them from being a mess. But you may end up with a honey coated hen.

Yes, I was meaning to just hold the skin close to itself. Definitely don’t seal it up.

Her neck wounds may need closed up. If you don’t want to do stitches (I don’t blame you) you could use steri strips. You don’t want to close it tight. More hold the skin together so it has the chance to meet up and grow together.

If you upload the pict and leave it was am attachment I should be able to zoom in on it better. You can give an 81 mg aspirin in 1 qt of water. The orange flavored chewables seem to be more palatable. If you think she has internal bleeding though I would hold off. You can use the Neosporin...

OUCH!! As painful as it looks those are mostly superficial wounds. Vetericyn is a good disinfectant but I found it can be a bit drying. I used Virgin Coconut Oil in conjunction with Vetericyn. Switched between the two. When her skin seemed dry I’d give her a good coat if VCO. If scabs came off...

I agree no more peroxide. Once is enough. Punctures can be problematic because they can harbor infection. If you have a vet willing to work with you you may want to ask for antibiotics. Most vets don’t see chickens. Separated from the others to prevent more injury is good as long as she’s not...
