Very good idea! I called our local post office well in advance of our chicks arrival. The lady there told me when trucks came in the morning and to come before the post office opened and to knock on the blue door! Wow what service! Every place is different but those people don’t want your chicks...

If you’re in TX I would definitely order from Ideal Poultry which is in Cameron, TX. Great people to deal with. I’ve personally got chicks from them and shipping to MS was a breeze.

I think if the large hatcheries want to stay in business, they will adapt. Maybe open smaller operations in various places. Make it easier for buyers to drive and pick up their chicks. Hopefully this will pass and it won’t come to that.
