    Never heard of a rabbit getting bumblefoot. I don't know sorehocks look like bumblefoot in extreme cases.

    Mesh is fine, probably safer too. But I would put wood boards down in spots so they can let their feet take a rest occasionally. We cook ours like a roast chicken and use chicken broth.

    Just know New Zealand rabbits are not pets. They are the mammal equivalent of a leghorn and don't enjoy being handled, even if they were messed with since day one
