This hatch a long was a great learning experience for me. I did have 6 eggs at different stages of development that didn't hatch. 😢 I'm pretty sure it was a temperature issue. I think I have it worked out so I put 24 eggs in on the 15th. I can see development in all except 5. A couple of them...
I've had 2 hatch and 6 more to go. I did the float test and all eggs are viable. I could hear scratching and pecking in 2 of them yesterday. Temperature has been low I think but have been working on getting it warmer.
We watched the second chick hatch out last night and it was amazing! My boys got to watch.💛
6 more eggs. I'll probably check them today when I take the babies out.
It very well could have been. My incubator is 15-20 years old. The turner doesn't work so I turned them by hand. I found out that my boys had been opening it.
One egg pipped yesterday evening and I woke up this morning to a freshly hatched chick. He/she has rolled the other eggs all around.💛
It's a Little Giant styrofoam incubator that we've had for years. The eggs are from my hens. I have 8 eggs that were developing nicely. Now nothing. I'll go candle and see what I can see
My eggs are just sitting there in the incubator and I am wondering what I've done wrong. Today is day 23 for 6 eggs and day 22 for 2 eggs. Do I candle them or just keep waiting?
