    Because of how contagious it is, you'll probably never know. NPIP's recertification is annual. A lot can happen in a year. I personally believe the only real places you be assured to get disease free birds is some place like hackle, Mcmurray, etc. Directly from them, not out of the TSC bins...

    If these are the only two chickens then free ranging would probably be good. I don't see it hurting anything. This issue with the RD in chickens is how contagious they are. Scientifically I don't know the exact half life of them, but I know that if I were to interact with an infected flock...
