Great idea-plus a fun activity in the coop LOL
Hey BigZ!!!! I won't be able to this year-Megs last day of HS was today, June 4th s graduation and her party is the 10th. (Plus in the process of selling my rental property and a few things to fix per buyer request before closing-IF appraisal comes...
Hi all! Have a couple questions:
Chickenship made me a hanging waterer with the red nipples-How did you get your chickens to start using these?
Have any of you used Frontline? Did you use the spray or the drops? which strength? I have had some issues with mites lately and the Eprinex hasnt been...
Hi all....Anyone raise polish? I was woken up to a friend stopping by on their way back from droping off their meat birds for butchering....and they brought me the mystery "Rare" free chicken that is 2 months old. Wonder if anyone has input on male or female?
Yes the incubator worked well, however if I can I think I will stick with broody hens as much as possible LOL Felt like an expectant mom, with constantly watching temp/humidity, and with watching the newly chicks etc. then to just turn around and sell them? :-(
Had a couple with dirty butts...
BBP: LOL I couldnt do your job-They would all end up at my place! IF any turn out to be hens-well......I bet they would fit in really well over here! I seriously wanted one of the polish today.....
19 Faverolles hatched so far (tonight marks day 21)...they started hatching yesterday noon! Sold 2 this evening and have 11 more reserved :-) Hope the rest sell as easily!
granola and weegarden-I responded to your post and must not have clicked "submit" Sorry about the mix up on the pic LOL Was just excited to see someone else using the MH!
27 Faverolles eggs in lockdown tonight!
kristip-the only birds I have set up for breeding are my Faverolles (only have Lav Orp roo and Favs roos) However @BlackBrookPoultry might have cochins available?
Steph-I also moved from teh cities to the country about 6-7 yrs ago-and love it! Hate the 1 hr 15 min commute each way though. Honestly, read what you can ahead but learning while doing is your best bet! Until you have chickens and can see what normal is, its hard to know to watch for illness...
Your over on the southeast side of the state? Wow yes that would be quite the drive! I can let you know if we are going to make it to the BYC bash in Clintonville/have chicks left?
chicendreams: I am about 45 mins north of Hudson, but could always arrange to meet south sometime. Hatch date is aprox May 12 :-) Early this morning, I panicked that I hadn't topped off the water in a couple days so went downstairs in the dar (Daughter home for a few days so trying to be quiet)...
chickendreams: I am hoping to sell them as straight run as soon as they hatch. I live on the MN/WI border. $7/chick on pre hatch orders, then $10 a chick once the hatch. (discount if taking 6 or more) These are from Merlin/Boulanger rooster lines, and the hens are from a breeder that shows all...
I saw the news post about the Antigo HS Prom shooting scary. And yes it is ridiculous to blame a gun, if someone has the intent, they will find a way. I have to share a pic of Megs prom pic (for those I don't have on FB) Growing up too fast!
On day 5 with the Faverolles eggs...Hoping for a...
Its been so long since I incubated anything (and this is way different than parrot eggs) that I feel like a first time mom lol. This incubator seems to be pretty much "Set and forget" so to speak...digital and holding temps/humidity pretty well. I have to say "IncubatorWarehouse.com" had the...
