I will be getting eggs from a breeder...I don't have pictures at the moment, but they are very nice looking...lots of colored lacing and some splash hens as well.
As I said, everyone has varying degrees of success. I think there are A LOT of influences...how the eggs are stored, temp, incubation technique, genetics/parent chicken health, shipped vs non shipped....etc etc etc. I personally try not to set anything older than a week old for the best...

In response to Chikenscratch The "experts" say viability decreases rapidly 7 days after being laid. I have heard of people incubating eggs up to 2 weeks old with varying results. (not more than 40%)
Kristip. Premise ID is easy and takes about 10 mins online. There is no cost. I dont remember the exact website info but if you google Wi premise ID you'll find it.

I haven't had any fertility issues with my silkies...my roo takes his job seriously. lol. I only have 2 and my hen decided a week or so ago that now would be a good time to take a break on egg...

Hello fellow cheeseheads and crazy chicken people! Im located in Weyauwega, started a small flock a couple years ago, and currently have 8 chickens. I will be trying my hand at incubating some eggs with the kids in the next week or so. Wish me luck!
