How are you finding the wood ash? I would be concerned about the chickens getting
sooty? If it good for you, let us know. Everyone is always looking for something useful
to do with wood ashes.

I can see from your photo you are in the building stage. But I must say from the
picture, a very nice spot. Chair for viewing, wood for your fire, garden for

Because of this site, I decided to try sand this year. Had 6 yds of clean sand delivered. Put it in my run about 3 inches deep.
