Thank you, nelgkel.
I didn't get around to doing as many eggs this year....it's been a busy fall and early winter.....but I enjoy the egg art and I'm hoping to make some more after Christmas!
Just thought I would add a few more pics of some eggs I did for Christmas and gave to relatives...these were painted black and gold. (btw - my mom really wanted to help, so she tied the ribbon and did the bead cap stuff. I just paint 'em )

Another thing I really like about the ink....it dries fast!
I can finish some eggs in one setting...it dries fast enough (most of the time ) for me to put my fingers on it without smudging as I work my way around the egg.
The etched egg is the only one like that that I've done so...

Thanks 2ndtime,
On the etched egg I just used black acrylic artist's ink. I found it at Hobby Lobby. All I do is paint it on the surface of the egg, and then scratch off the design with a safety pin. Pretty simple....but time consuming (depending on your design!)

So far I've just been using Acrylic Ink...I tried some varnish on part of the etched one and it started running! So yeah...stopped applying that really quick! I'll just have to make some dummy eggs and see which preservative works the best? The rub-ons shouldn't be a problem...
