Pullets are salmon in color, cockerels feather in black. Hatchery birds may be a little off in color but still holds true.

Depends where you got them from. Some of the hatchery birds even the females are having very smutty dark unusual colors colors for favs. Could probably tell a little more if youd take some close ups of the heads etc

Look back on pages 1290-1291. Looks like a few other people have had this problem. Prognosis isn't good at all. Probably best to cull them.

Wow i am sorry you had this happen, i have never had ones that had this problem. In my last hatch i did have one that had one bottom eyelid that was flipped inside out. i just worked very carefully with a pair of tweezers and "unflipped" it. He turned out completely healthy after a few days. I...

I have had birds peck at each other to push each other out of the way but have never had them bloody each other. They have about eight acres to get out of each others way and plenty to do though. Lots of room helps.

Thats very interesting. I am planning on keeping the blue but finding a new home for the salmon cockerel. I found hatching eggs from a private breeder in upstate new york. I can find her email if anyone is interested.

They are from the same two birds. Their is quite a size difference as well as the feathering is very different from the two of them. I have seen some hatchery "salmon favs" that are quite dark but are pullets still. What would give the two birds such a size and feather difference?

Good evening I need some help here. This is my first batch of favs. These guys hatched on January 25th so they are 7 weeks. I had two hatch. The first picture I am assuming is a cockerel. He feathered in slowly and is much larger than the one in the second picture. The second feathered in quite...
