I'll be at the Delmarva Show in March. I can gather some eggs for you before then. Can't promise anything regarding hatchability/fertility - I'm about to set my first batch this week from them. The roo took third in Ohio, and Leisha gave me the go-ahead with them. They are Rose...
OK peeps...
I need some Bantam Salmon Fav eggs unless you are an hour or two from SWVA, then I would happily purchase chicks, started birds, etc.
I lost my 2 hens from Henry in the deep south freeze last month so I must replenish.
Is there anyone who will be looking to do some egg business in...
Drat and double drat! Lost both of my Fav hens in this stinkin' cold snap here in VA. Temps went from 60's to teens in a day and have stayed there for 4 days.
I found the 1st one yesterday and the 2nd this evening. No signs of any other health issues. Just dead.
So I am going to be looking for...
Yep. I am in SW VA, almost to the TN line on I-81.
I am hoping to get more Favs going myself. I just have the 4 so will be looking for chicks and started birds in the Spring.
I already have the beginnings Spring Hatching Fever. lol
Wow! Thank you for all of the responses. We love her/him...well...whatever.
The other roos that hatched with her are fully colored and have been for some time. As a matter of fact one of them took the GrandChampion Cockerel at our local 4H show and a pullet took a Blue.
With these unique...
Here is my hermaphrodite Faverolle.
'She' started out colored very much like a 'traditional' Salmon Fav. Then a few blue feathers began to appear on her breast...then more and more and more. Next, she picked up some mahogany feathering. A few weeks ago, her head turned the same creamy color as...

Henry. That. is. not. funny.
Really? Is that possible?
Oh wait. The roo has mounted her. She is in need of a saddle, I noticed this morning when I took the pics. Does that tell anything?
Maybe the one Leisha gave to me and I gave to Dick looked female except she had pointy...

Dick, I got her out of a batch of eggs that I hatched from Henry. So, I am sure she is all Fav. I think he told me that she came out of the 1st batch of splash eggs that he had.
I like that the blue is in a pattern on her and not just splotched any old place. If you look close, you can see some...

If the hen has blue feathers in her tail and wing, yes, I would say she is a blue salmon hen.
Dick
Hi Dick...I posted a pic of her further down in the thread, would you take a peek?
Thanks Henry! We just think she is beautiful. We tend to like the unusual ones lol.
And good cockerels are always welcome! Their coloring is so eye catching
Oh she is gorgeous Henry. She has the fullest beard and muff! Great personality too.
If she is indeed a 'smutty hen', will she throw that coloring into chicks? Would she do better with the blue roo or the traditional colored roo to avoid mixing anymore 'smuttiness' into chicks?
I just adore...
I sure will...if the rain stops tomorrow. LOL.
The blues are mixed in all over in the area where the other hen is all 'salmon'
Will get a pic ASAP.
Thank you!
