Same as other chickens I think :-) Around 5-6 months the girls will start laying. That poor girl, you need some more pullets lol
You can really see the Faverolles in them, can't you? I think they're adorable :-))))))))
I'm far from an expert but no one else answered so maybe if I try to answer they'll chime in :)
But I would say since they're already under the broody just leave them. A broody doesn't turn eggs *near as much as an automatic egg turner so I'm sure they'll be ok.
Hoping for the best for them! She really is a great shipper, a nice lady, too.
I'll be anxious to see what your hatch rate is under a broody, be sure to let us know.
If it's allowed be sure to post the link here. I know there's lots of people reading the thread who don't post. And who in their right mind wouldn't be looking for Bantam Favs?
Except I only got a 50% hatch rate from the guy who hatched for me so I'm thinking for some reason it was probably the boys who didn't make it. The male species is weaker (I'm not just making that up, it's a known fact haha) so it may have something to do with that.
ETA: I do need to add that at...
The one on the left is in the above picture (the one I wasn't sure of the sex). Just to be safe-the one one the right actually *is male, correct? These are the 2 dark ones, the others are all beige and butterscotch. They're 2 wks old.
Edit: For the record both chicks in the above photo and...
I've got an updated picture I'm hoping you all can help with sexing. I've got the 6 Bantam Favs that were hatched, 4 are very obviously girls, 1 of the others is a boy (I think) with darker wing feathers than this. But this one is a little confusing. Where it would normally be black wing...
Ok guys, I've got a total of 6 Bantam Faverolles that hatched 10 days ago. Could I please please get you all's expert opinion on genders? If you need more pictures or clearer picture of different angles just let me know and I'd be glad to take them. I'm seeing no feathers coming in black which...
Chickie'sMoma :

They even quarantine *eggs for 30 days? Well that wouldn't make for healthy chicks, would it? Not to mention that whole radiation thing
I've never bred chickens, but maybe I need to take it upon myself to look into that lol
I have no personal experience with the whole "importing eggs"...
