Hi, I have posted here a few times. You guys have been very helpful in helping me determine that my hatchery Salmon Faverolle was indeed a pullet.
My next question. At what age do they develop their "beards" (is that the proper name?). Is it possible that some hatchery SF never do?
She is...
I have a Salmon Faverolle that I got from our local co-op. So obviously hatchery quality. This is my first time owning chickens so I still am learning. Been thinking she was a girl but wondering if her saddle feathers tell a diffrent story?
Here are some pics from today. She is 11 weeks old.
THANK YOU for the info.
I do keep an eye on that and seems she holds her own when eating or interacting. It just seems sometimes she isn't a "team player" when they are all running around going crazy in the yard. LOL
My Amy, is a hatchery SF. She is about 9/10 weeks When the other gals are running around the garden, many times she will just sit in a corner and watch them. Is this a common trait with SF? She seems sooo mellow compared to the rest.
Ahhhh, thank you! I appreciate the info.
I wonder where to find some pictures of hatchery Faverolles. My nephew wants to know what she will look like she is is "bigger".
Hello,
At what age is a chicken considered "full grown"? I have a pullet that is 7/8 weeks old. She seems very dark on the underside. As she grows will that turn lighter as you see in most full grown Salmon Faverolles?
THANKS for your input, Grumpypantsmomma (love the name!!!)
I would love to see some pictures of yours now. Gives me something to compare and possible see what she will grow into.
THANKS for your input!
Mine are about 5 or 6 weeks old and they do sleep a lot. We still have them in a brooder, in the garage. I think once they are outside with a run, they will be more active.
