Cloverleaf Farm - your article popped up on the side so I was just having a read and drooling over how beautiful all your birds are!
This might be a silly question, but I've never shown my birds or really thought of showing them (I get a little worried with illness etc other birds can carry)...
No worries :) Hopefully it is just a mistake and she's not doing it purposefully.
I'm sure she would understand how confusing it can get having similar names, selling the same hens, and being so close to each other.
Awww, Mr MMK FARMS, your picture made me chuckle! What an adorable face
Hi again everyone, I posted last week wondering if my young favs were actually bantams. Looking at pictures I do believe they're LF, they have pretty long legs which the bantams don't seem to have. BUT, I'm still...
Hehe thank you! I was hoping Willow would join them, that would of been the perfect photo - but she was too busy inspecting my nail varnish hahah! What is it with chickens and painted nails?!
Hope you don't mind me posting some more pictures.
The girls moved out of their temp/chick run into the big run today (but separated off from the other girls). I'm surprised by how well things are going, I've never had any problems with introductions other than they turn into noisy little...
Hehe Willow is the one peeking - she has such a cheeky personality. She's the smallest one but runs round like a mad one chest bumping Rora and Luna, they pay no attention.
To be honest they have really filled out since the weekend - just finished their mini moult and seem to have hit a...
Right, I have some photos! I couldn't get them stood right next to the tin - they were scared of it LOL!
I'm surprised how big they looked compared to the tin, it barely touched their bloomers, which is making me think I'm just seeing them smaller than they are having had them from teeny...
I'm trying to find something in the house that I can use for a size comparison that you would also have there, would a tin of beans do? Are standard tins the same size over there?
I don't know how I'll get them to stand still long enough to take a photo though lol!
How old should a LF Fav or...
Oh we must definitely have big black birds then, unless you have huge rats? LOL
I'd say they're as tall as a male black bird, but much rounder.
I'll try and get a photo of them today next to something to compare size as I can't find a ruler anywhere.
I must admit, I was expecting them to...
I'll try and get a photo of them next to a ruler, they're about the size of a black bird I think though.
Looking at pictures the bantams seem to have pretty short legs (similar to my Orp Bantam), but these chicks are pretty leggy.
It might just be a case of wait and see. Would love some huge...
Thank you, I thought they were, they seem very small for nearly 17 weeks.
I'm a little disappointed as I really wanted some big girls, but hey ho that's how things go, they will be loved no less :)
Of course! I don't have many recent ones though as I've lost my camera, so had to use my phone instead.
Here's a chick photo (3 weeks) not sure if this would help at all:
7 weeks:
8 weeks:
16 weeks:
They will be 17 weeks on Friday. Do you need any particular shots? Above shots...
Hi everyone
I asked this question in the "What breed/gender is this?" section but didn't get a definite answer so I hope it's okay for me to post here too as you all seem to know your stuff about Faverolles!
Is there any way of telling at 16 weeks whether a Fav is bantam or standard?
I...
